Working through Titus

The address in 1, 1–4 is not followed by the usual thanksgiving, but the text goes directly into the body of the letter in 1, 5–3, 11 . This message presents the pastoral charge or responsibilities, especially that of working with others in the preaching of the Christian message. The entire letter may be seen as an exhortation of encouragement from one pastor to another. A short conclusion ( 3, 12–15 ), giving personal information, brings the letter to a close. The simple structure is as follows:
