The Oxford Bible Commentary Line-by-line commentary for the New Revised Standard Version Bible.

Unity.

As far as the text's unity is concerned, Galling (1954: 10–17) suggests two Chroniclers with close theological ties who wrote around 300 and 200 BCE respectively, the second author being especially responsible for the material in Chronicles which is unique in the OT. This and similar theories have had little support.
