1And they made Cain a farmer and Abel they made a shepherd, so that they were separate from one another. 2And after this Cain murdered Abel (Adam was then a hundred and thirty years old, and Abel, when he was murdered, was twenty-two 1 The text reads ‘a hundred and twenty-two’. The emendation depends partly on common sense and partly on the information in Syncellus (Chron. – ed. Dindorf, i, p. 14) that Abel was twenty-two when he offered his sacrifice. ). 3And after this Adam had intercourse with his wife; and he became the father of another son and called his name Seth.
